Richard Bagshaw, Ph.D
Richard Bagshaw
is a biochemist and mass spectrometry scientist with 25 years experience in biomedical research and contract research environments. Dr. Bagshaw has experience in the pre-clinical environment for INDs for mass spectrometry-based bioanalysis, development, validation of bioassays for characterization of peptide drugs and biologics, and identification and characterization of biomarkers from biofluids for characterization of disease state or drug treatment.
He also has experience with development and validations of new drug substances and finished products to satisfy ICH/ CDER/ EMA/ Health Canada guidance. In biomedical science, Dr. Bagshaw has experience with inborn errors of metabolism such as lysosomal diseases, Alzheimer disease, immune-cell function, and cellular signal transduction.
Dr. Bagshaw has held prestigious fellowships, been co-author on several successful research grant applications to CIHR, NSERC, IRAP, and has co-authored more than 30 scientific journal articles and book chapters. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the Hospital for Sick Children.
